Mosskirk Harvest

Samson, a reluctant Scottish hero investigates the inexplicable and sinister
happenings in the village of Mosskirk. These happenings appear to have been
occuring for centuries - every seventy eight years. He not only has to
battle witchcraft, but also overcome a village-wide conspiracy - but the
biggest battle is yet to come.
Katie O'Brien (right) plays the
role of Samson's wife.
George
Elder is a fantastic writer. His original, exciting and humours script for the Mosskirk Harvest is
beautifully crafted. He manages a totally intriguing reveal which drives the
plot forwards at a captivating pace. The script is full of action and
presents a fascinating puzzle with twist after twist.
I have received unedited footage for part of the film - it is beautifully
shot.
Production

Samson, played by the talented writer of The Mosskirk Harvest, George Elder.

Mosskirk during harvest time can be a bad place to be...

...and the witches are the least of your problems...

Samson and his wife have been field operatives
working together for all his big assignments...
...but to end the Mosskirk Harvest he must learn
to work alone.
Composition
Here are some working themes for Mosskirk Harvest, inspired from the script
and from production stills and rushes.
A Crushing Loss mp3, 3 mins 22 secs,
4.752MB - the Samson suffers terribly with grief for his murdered wife. This is
a recurring issue throughout the script.
Samson's Theme (light-hearted)
mp3,
2 mins 44 secs, 3.867MB - an early scene in the film opens with the sinister
looking shot of Samson and his wife chained to a wall. Whilst trying to decide
which particular bad guys they've upset this time, the scene descends into a
domestic feud about Christmas shopping (you can hear a bit of Christmas
treatment towards the end) - just before the bad guy comes in and it
all gets serious.
Samson King - theme
mp3, 1 min 20secs, 1.905MB - enthusiastic amateur marching wind band from
centuries gone
I was asked to write a theme for the lead character in a
humorous supernatural mystery with many references to local Scottish history and
skirmishes.
Samson King -
dark treatment mp3, 1 min 27 secs, 2.042MB - sinister strings and woodwind,
same theme as above
The script moves quickly between humorous and dark situations, but humour is
never far away.
Samson King is a reluctant hero, he is
purposeful, a warrior, rustic,
straightforward, Scottish – his treatment in the script is both light-hearted
and heroic, all this would make him quite charismatic I think – a popular guy to
be around.
Action Sequence mp3,
2 min 40 secs, 3.76MB - there are numerous action sequences in the film involving
fights, chases and loads of excitement. I wrote this as a candidate for some of
those scenes.
