Goals and Work Ethic
 I
am aiming to be into main stream film composing within 15 years from now. To
that end I will take on any work that furthers my experience in: composition in
different musical genres, writing for different dramatic genres, writing
for different project types (e.g. feature films, television, games,
advertisements).
Every project that I do I try to get the most possible experience from it. To
this end, even though I work FOR FREE, I work very hard crafting every solution.
Why I work for FREE
If I learn my craft well, the amount I can earn now is tiny compared with how
much I could earn once I had mastered my craft.
To this end, I believe the freedom to choose the right work in
sufficient quantities, to give me the right experience and the right
contacts and exposure - this is far more important than going where
the money is.
I read about a film composer who is now a very well established name.
Apparently he scored 22 films before he made any money. My aim is to get through
my "22" in a way that gives me the best foundation for what I hope will become
my new career.
